Remembrance

Attended our town's Remembrance Day parade this morning under a glorious blue sky. Two weeks ago the town stopped for the funeral of a local soldier. The place was full of young men in regimental uniform. And when I say young, I really mean young so it felt even more important somehow to go along.
It was moving, of course, the sound of The Last Post, the minute's silence, and interesting too, to see the groups that are formed in a small town - the Soroptomists; the Masons in their fetching blue aprons; the Society of Oddfellows (must look them up) and the Americans in their blue uniforms from up the road at Menwith Hill.

Packing for a three-day residential I'm going on tomorrow with school, so blipping may be impossible! Beck scrambling first activity. Gulp...
