Mirror mirror

Looking for inspiration I came across a similar picture to this.

Whilst I am happy with the general idea I think there is too much space. I think I should have crammed it all together a bit more, so that the background is more obvious and easier to understand, leaving the viewer to concentrate on the visual puzzle.

If anyone has any thoughts I would gladly welcome them.
