It's a Big World Out There
For this day of ones -- 11/11/11-- we decided to do a first and took the three pooches the dog park.
It was late afternoon when we left the house. We had not realized that there are two dog parks in one location: a Big Dog Park and a Small Dog Park. Just as we were arriving, the only small dog and its owner were exiting. So we had the area to ourselves.
We kept their leashes on and Max, Mitzi, and Chloe just ran like crazy and then would stop and kick up the grass with their back legs. Our backyard has no lawn for them to play or run on. Obviously they loved the grass.
When another small dog arrived, we quickly grabbed their 3 leashes because we were not sure how they would respond or react. Chloe decided to show her teeth and win the Oscar for the role of "Alpha Dog." I think she does that as a defense because she is a small dog. It doesn't matter why she does it, the moment was a little uncomfortable and even embarrassing. When she wouldn't quit acting nasty, we finally left the fenced area and walked the pathway around the entire park. With hindsight, I wonder if we should have just let our three dogs run and work it out amongst themselves when a visitor arrived. Because we've never been to a dog park before, we didn't know the unwritten rules.
When we got back in the car and started to drive away, I suggest that we get a "Subway" for dinner. So this photo of Chloe and Mitzi was taken while Mr. Fun was inside getting us a "Subway " -- a 12 inch veggie sub to share and a small bag of baked potato chips for each of us. With 35,606 Subway stores in 98 countries, everyone in the Blip community must know what a Subway sandwich is. I could eat one a day. I love them and the veggies subs are low in calories and delicious.
For my blip today I wanted to show my father-in-law or my father in their military outfits. My dad was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army and father-in-law was an airplane mechanic for the U.S. Army Air Corps. Someday I'll uncover those military photos, but not today.
Good night from Southern California.
