the toad hour
well, while looking for info on what's happening in sydney this weekend i stumbled upon this wee article on the Sculpture by the Sea exhibition which has been fantastic for blipping. i hadn't realised it's the largest outdoor sculpture exhibition in the world.
i do find it fascinating that these beautiful/intriguing/quirky/huge/small works of art are displayed here on such a temporary basis. they would make a wonderful permanent addition to the coastal path, but then again i imagine that each annual arrival of the exhibition is a fantastically new celebration.
so, today we have 'the toad hour'. i hope i've the name right... when i first saw this (it sits on the opposite side of the path to the tv exhibit ) i semi ignored it. compared to the fun, retro tv, it seemed uncomfortable and odd... but the more i walk past it, the more i'm intrigued. it is odd! but then it's great because its odd. so, given that i was out on the path just after 7am and the skies were yet to turn blue, i thought it was a good one to blip. there are others which benefit more from the backdrop of blue sky which i'll save for another day.
oh and also, i was out walking megs around 7am as M had left for work by then. i thought that was pretty early for a saturday morning..until i arrived at the beach and it was packed with people at boot camps, exercising, training, enjoying the coast. i couldn't believe how busy the beach and indeed the sculptures were so early! it's fantastic to see people so energetic and enthusiastic.
another surf today and my first bondi haircut. "no dramas" as they'd say here.
hope everyone enjoys their weekend x
