Cooling Off!

The pool is the only place to be in this heat!

I love Summer and don't normally complain but this year so far has been exceptionally warm.

It was an early start this morning as daughter T and I attended the fashion show at school. It was a well organised event which was held in our beautiful Pre-Primary garden.

We had to leave early as T had a lesson at 11:30. So we drove through to Sandton and while T was busy I went and bought a lovely spread of freshly baked rolls, sliced roast beef and pastrami, potato salad, greek salad and the various condiments to go with it.

We enjoyed our lunch and spent the rest of the day cooling off in the pool.

Right now Mr G and son S are having a game of rugby as evening has arrived and it has cooled down a little bit. Daughter T and I are watching American X-Factor and son K is visiting with a friend. We are enjoying a relaxing weekend which is just what we needed after our busy week.

I heard today that Table Mountain in Cape Town has been voted as one of the New Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Makes me feel proud to be South African. There are so many things South Africans can be proud of but we can only do this if we close our eyes to the unacceptable levels of violence and poverty. Maybe pride can lift a nation as it did during the World Cup Rugby in '95 and the World Cup Soccer last year.
