Bay Laurels after the rain
Bay Laurels lean all directions to capture light. Sometimes they have multiple trunks, which seem to twist in opposite directions... they look like they are dancing! They are also known for fragrant leaves, which have a stronger smell and flavor than bay leaves you get in the supermarket. They smell good to us, and won't harm us, but they are toxic to insects, who avoid munching. Taken at Huckleberry Regional Botanical Preserve.
