The fungi are coming!

It's early rainy season in northern California, and the beginning of wild fungi time. These young turkey tails (tramenetes versicolor) are popping out of dead wood, which they will decompose. They are moist and soft; they'll be dry and tough as time goes on. You can see why they are called turkey tails!
