Japanese Lanterns
Lanterns are just what we need in November, and these are particularly lovely ones. We took a quick trip to the allotment to fill up the bird feeders and put up the protection for the windows of the cottage hallway. Temperature was +2°C, the wind was cold. Mostly cloudy, but we had a tiny bit of sun around 2PM.
We had a wonderful meal yesterday night with some friends (N&R with not-so-small-any-longer-B, I&C and N). It was really great to catch up!
For an entré we had the most lovely Jerusalem Artichoke soup, the main course was Vegetarian winter squash/lentil bobotie, caramelized carrots, green beans with potatoes and onion and yellow rice with raisins. Dessert was homemade lemon icecream with a sauce of black/red currant. Most of it cooked on our crop from the allotment (not the lemons, the rice or the raisins...). Fantabulous!
A huge thanks to the chief cook: M!
