Quince

Today's the day ......................... for strange goings-on

Another lovely autumn day - and I took a walk round the garden. There were still plenty of plants in fruit or flower including this Japanese quince. The strange thing was that it had both - flowers and mature fruit - right next to each other on the same branch.

It must be this spell of good weather combined with the shortening of the days that has made it think that spring has come and that it is time to open its flowers.

Mark my words, it's all going to end in tears ....................
