Today's the day ......................... to convert
This dramatic looking building on the River Kent dates back to the 17th century - 1626 in fact. It was home to renowned makers of leather who would continue to carry on their trade there for the next 250 years.
The building has now been converted into quite a luxurious hotel with all mod cons - and the additional wooden balcony added here and there. The bit on the extreme left is completely new but constructed (quite successfully) to blend in with the style of the original building.
In the end, it's quite hard to tell what's new, what has always been there and what has been converted into what .....................
