That Will Do!

Back blipped for 10.11.11

My brothers booked lunch at Wolesley Arms so on the way we had time for a swift visit to Lichfield Cathedral. I love stained glass and took a couple of photos, this is the one over the West Door (quite good in Large). Sadly, the Herkenrode Glass is still under restoration.

It was great to catch up with my brothers, especially the one I hadn't seen for a few years, my sisters-in-law and to see my great niece again (5 months old now). The lunch was all too brief and there was nowhere nearby for us to wander and chat, so we exchanged Christmas gifts and departed.

Having noted orchid99's blip on Georges Hayes wood and KenPetch's note of where to park Mr Flum and I paid a brief visit there. The light was going so we couldn't stop long but understand how beautiful it would be - we'd changed our shoes to cope with the mud but I won't be wearing smart clothes next time.

We returned to Lichfield Cathedral to attend Choral Evensong, where the treble choir sang the Pie Jesu from Faure's Requiem, one of our favourite pieces.

Then it was back to our lodging via Lidl to pick up something for tea - the Burger King by the lodge opens at 10am and closes at 7pm, so does not cater well for the guests.
