Old Quad

After last night's news didn't sleep well, then up early in case the joiners arrived - they didn't, till later.

Went to French, first time for ages but didn't say much, in fact I spoke more French this afternoon at GCP with G (I think) from Corse.

Spent a long time in RBS, complicated, and then to the delivery office to pick up my passport.

By the time I got back (quiche lorraine from La Barantine for lunch) the kitchen had gone, so now I have a kettle in the bedroom, milk in the back bedroom (no fridge) and the micro in the living room. Cooking is going to be a challenge.

After a meeting with J at GCP I hot footed it to P's and then after an hour there up to the stunning Playfair Library at the Old Quad for the John P Mackintosh lecture - Brian Taylor on the 'Who, what, why, when, where' of the referendum. Was very good but why do women never ask questions after these events.

So what for tea? Had to be microwaveable. Sainsbury's to the rescue, not great, but hot.

There is blue police tape at the bottom of Marchmont Rd - apparently a rape was reported during the night.

The Old Quad is the historic centre of the University of Edinburgh, built on the old Kirk o' Field site. They were doing archaeological excavations there earlier this year. I did Con Law there aeons ago.
