Mystery in Mine Woods

Behind this tranquil autumn scene lies some inexplicable "goings on" in Mine Woods,.

We are a gentle law-abiding group of people who live in the Victorian spa town of Bridge of Allan with more than our share of the population over 60.

We are not given to breaking the law.

Many of us like to walk in the woods with its abundance of wildlife from roe deer, rabbits and squirrels to woodpeckers and bullfinches.

Hence the alarm when a series of notices appeared announcing there had been an incident resulting in the woods being evacuated and a person taken to hospital for emergency treatment.

Well, it brought out the community police.
There had been no incident.

The notices, purporting to come from Stirling Council, were fake.


But for a long time now there has been an Unknown Person placing branches, logs of wood and other obstructions on many of the paths frequented by joggers and mountain bikers.

Have they finally hit back?
