Théâtre Déjazet
Today was a Wednesday off school for Ch. We spent the morning running errands and getting homework done and in the afternoon we saw a really sweet production of "Puss in Boots" at the Théâtre Déjazet.
This theatre was a popular, vaudeville theatre when it first opened in 1851 in an area known as the "Boulevard du Crime". It is the last theatre still in the area (Métro République) today. This ceiling was painted by Honoré Daumier. Ch is studying Perrault fairy tales at school and worked on "Le Chat botté" last week, so this was the perfect field trip.
