Day fifty-two: taking a shot while you can
One of the things that this foto journal has allowed me to do is to look at things through a news lens ... to recognize the beautiful or inspiring things capture me today. There have been times when I have thought "oh, that would make a good photo" and then I forget, or come back later, and the moment is gone.
This happened on Tuesday. There was a tree whose autumn-y leaves were a gorgeous gold in the morning sun. I was running a touch late, so I didn't pull over the car to take a pic. When I came back later that day, the wind had beaten the leaves out of the tree and the light was wrong.
I think that is a lot like any opportunity we have: you can either seize when you have the moment, or it might pass you by.
So, on Wednesday morning, I was letting out the dogs and had been thinking for DAYS that I needed to take a pic of the autumn leaves...so I trudged back inside and got my camera.
I find something so alluring about the autumn leaves that hang on to the very end. I attribute a personality to the leaves that is something akin to, "I'll go when I am good and ready to go."
So here are some beautiful last leaves of autumn and a moment that I took to catch.
