Inspired by my friend Ian who grows this mountain ash in his garden I ordered some seed from a seed exchange last winter. Four seeds germinated this summer and have provided an unexpected miniature show of autumn colour in their seed pot. I was attracted by the promise of white berries, flushed pink (see here) so this vibrant autumn display is an added bonus.

Now all I have to do is clear up the untidy garden and make a space for the new tree(s) .... I have time on my side, they are only 2cm high at present!
