Our fruit bowl

Today's blip was taken in our kitchen where the fruit bowl looked inviting, if a little limited in choice. Those little bananas have been delicious which is why there is only one left.

The bowl itself has an interesting history. My parents bought it whilst on honeymoon in Edinburgh in 1948. Most things were still rationed but they were able to see manufactured goods like china and crockery that were destined for the export markets. This was on sale and has been in use in the family home ever since. The glaze is not as good as it used to be, but we do love the bowl.
