Living In The Valley

The Nuthatch gets Dinner

Hello Blip... finally Saturday and some wonderful sunshine... Finished moving the bird feeding stations and bird bath to a more convenient part of the yard this afternoon. (With the new knee problem, carrying water & bird feed down a small incline was just getting the best of me) This is so much more easier and maybe the birds & squirrels will get used to it. I was busy at the birdbath and was surprised how many birds were coming to the feeder considering how close I was.

I really want to try and get more photos of birds in flight this winter instead of at the feeders. I couldn't resist the little nuthatch (white-breasted nuthatch) though. It's one of my favorite birds, and rather tenacious at the feeders. I do hope you can see his lunch in his beak. He was happily whacking the seed later that he jammed into some tree bark.

The wildlife encounters this morning were a white tail deer, squirrels and a chipmunk with the fattest cheeks :) (All in the back yard)

Here's one of the visitors :)
