Thistle Down

By Ethel

Fairy Glimpses

Fairies at play,
Flying in rings.
Fluttering low,
On gossamer wings.

Orbs all tangled,
Far out of sight.
And clinging around,
The rays of light.

Girthed in dainty,
Filmy-white gowns.
With high-lighted spots,
Of thistle-down.

Silver-laced slippers,
On dancing toes.
A curtsy...a whirl,
And away she goes.

On silken threads,
They hold with ease.
Sailing far out,
To catch a breeze.

While I...in repose,
Tries some how to feel.
That maybe...perhaps,
A part can be real.

Though I am for-get-ful,
I linger to keep.
The touch of soft fingers,
To wrap me in sleep.
