1. Hangover and gloom almost entirely gone, I try to get some use out of my day, starting with a proper, healthy breakfast.

2. I tidy my flat. This really, really helps lift gloom and restores a sense of being a grown up and in charge. At least of the hoovering.

3. I head out for a run. I didn't really fancy it, it was bucketing and almost dark, but I knew I would feel better for it. I did.

4. I have a nice healthy dinner - cramming as many vitamins as I can into my malnourished face. Balance is restoring.

5. There was a time when I listened to a lot of Irish folk music. I haven't in a while but today I found myself humming some old Christy song. I spend a few happy hours building a folk playlist on Spotify. She's a rare thing, fine as a beeswing. So fine a breath of wind might blow her away. She was a lost child, she was running wild... and so the song goes on.
