Marchmont sunset

I love sunsets. My (former) home in SW France, La G, has a deck that faces due west across to the Gers. It was one of the reasons we bought it, that and the 12 x 5 pool. I have captured many, many sunsets there. At this time of year the sun sets SW, to the left of the deck, often lighting up the tops of the Pyrenees 200 kms distant. In a 3rd floor flat with north facing windows there are few opportunities to see sunsets (or sunrises) so walking across the Meadows at dusk it was lovely to look back and see the sun setting over the Marchmont rooftops. Ahead of me it glinted on the new towers of the Quartermile and the Victorian wings of the former Infirmary (and the Dower House).

There is progress on the kitchen front - I now have an oven and sink installed, but not working, and worktops and handles fitted. Tomorrow - maybe tiles, ventilation in the living room and a decorated hall.

It was a beautiful day today - sunny, blue skies and although cooler than yesterday a great day to be out, I went to French, but didn't say much. There was a lot of talk of les contes fees. I didn't have a lot to add. Later in the day, after the sunset, I played 'hunt the bus stop' in George Street and Queen Street (these trams have a lot to answer for) and stood for ages in Stockbridge waiting for a #24 that my app kept telling me was 'due'. Bangers and mash at mum's and then the Choir Committee meeting.

Edinburgh is preparing for Christmas. The wheel is up, the German Market open. It feels odd. I was here this time last year. This is the first time for a lifetime that I have spent so much time in Edinburgh and seen the seasons change, shift and repeat. it is almost a year since I started using my G12, almost a year since I started blipping (95+ weeks to go, can't count). Where does the time go? Where else would I rather be?
