Amazing girlie

Katie has been utterly amazing today. She has done me so very proud. I have been out of town today on a very very long day. She's coped brilliantly. She started her day going to Kiki's house, before Kiki got up. They then played beautifully, Kiki helping her with her breakfast, getting her ready and the two of them running round holding hands. Kiki went with her grandma to school and Katie went with Kiki's mum, who dropped her off at nursery.

There were a very few tears at nursery and after that, Katie had a smiley day. She ate well, slept well, played well. The end of the day, she loved. And I here defer to Grandad for his journal of the day!

ALL FINE AND FUN:
Katie was just finishing at toilet when we arrived at nursery. Smiled and did excited wave [Uncle Simon, Granny said she did her arm flapping dance], looked for Mummy but accepted see Mummy soon. After a few attempts, staff found right missing doll. Chattered on way to car including, "like our car". Songs, mainly Granny on journey.
Happy to see home, G'dad & Katie played as usual, Granny got tea on. K keen for table then wanted Barney on. Watched + occasional mischievous peepo to us. Gdad said "tidy time" - she took magnets to kitchen, moved some bits then said "bathtime" and headed upstairs. Gdad took Monkey, before long relaxed bath. Lot of play with (new) foam animals, lots of chatter. Good snuggles, chose her jammies.
As soon as jammies were on, Katie climbed on bed, turned light off, lay down. Gdad did cuddle, prayers and kiss, stayed lightly cuddling for few minutes. She fell asleep.

I arrived home to a peaceful house, Katie snuggled in bed, a happy little munchkin. I am so very proud that she's been so brilliant and settled despite quite a big day for her - she's never been dropped off by someone other than me, and never collected without me. This was the first time in this house I've not put her to bed. So a big day. And these are some of Grandad's photos of that time. Thankyou Grandad and Granny. xxxx
