Bath is the Answer

I'm very excited that my old pal Pow Wow has joined blipfoto. Please pop over and check out her brand new journal, it'll be worth keeping an eye on, this I know for sure! Miss PoWWow is a true creative genius!

And for today's blip...

After about 4 months of being nappy free with minimal accidents, Boo has discovered over the last few weeks that if he is not getting the attention that he wants (because I am making dinner, for example) then he can get me to come running by pissing on the carpet/sofa/the wall etc etc. It is driving me completely barmy. I spoke to a nursery nurse a few weeks ago, who advised me to leave him in it for as long as possible, react as little as possible and just carry on with what I am doing. She advised not to put him back in nappies as he would probably really regress. Things have escalated now though. We've tried star charts to no avail. He now screams at the suggestion of a potty/toilet, and then 2 seconds later says 'I want a wee, I doing it on the carpet'. Great. I told him today that we would have to put nappies on him again. Initially he was very upset, and promptly showed me that he could easily go on the potty. Just half an hour later though, he said "I want to be a baby in a nappy", and then piddled on the floor again. I put him in a nappy, and he skipped about gleefully singing "I'm a baby in a nappy!". He then told me that I should put a nappy on. I said no thanks, I like using the toilet. After several of these episodes, Mummy gave up and put him in the bath, hoping for a long long soak and a bit of a break. I asked him before he got in if he needed the toilet, and he said a very definite"no". The second that I put him in the bath, he grinned at me and said "I want to tinkle in the bath!" and promptly re-created one of those fountain scenes of a little boy piddling into a pool. Delightful. Somebody, please tell me this will pass! Sanity is needed, along with some SuperMum powers.
