Teeny Tiny Bump
In celebration of Jumpingbean's brand new jumping bean, (soon to be blipped I am sure!) I thought I'd share my own little teeny tiny bump for the first time. What you see here is an almost 4 month old bump, which I can assure you is at least one third apple crumble (made by Boo and myself this afternoon), one third gas (a delightful symptom of all that wonderful HGC hormone), and the remaining third is our teeny tiny weeny baby bumble- due to make a grand entrance in early May. With this new knowledge, I hope that you can forgive my blip apathy and increase in dubious last minute shots in the last few months. I envy the way Jeni has managed to keep up such a high standard of blips throughout her 8.5 month journey. To be honest, the little snippets of her birth story that I have gleaned from facebook have filled me with hope about my own impending labour. We had a similarly rough ride with our first births - both diabetic, both had rather unpleasant induction experiences, and hence both eager to do whatever we can to make things a little smoother this time around. It's fair to say, Jeni has succeeded and she is now my new birthing role model. I will go armed with her story to the clinic, and insist that they do things a certain way so that I feel like I have hold of the reigns again. My diabetes team are really really great. Very person centred. It's just the bloomin' obstetricians who make me feel like a product on a factory production line, prodding and poking me and talking to each other about what will be done to me. Grrrrrr. Anyway, birth fears aside, I am delighted to be expecting another little family member, and Mr Dusty-bones is also thrilled. A play-mate for Boo! What have we let ourselves in for?!
