Regeneration

On a wall in Kingsland is a mural which appears to depict the regeneration of rain forest from fallen forest giants. The painting shows two tree fern growing out of a large fallen trunk, with the roots high above the ground. The land where I was standing to take this picture is a car park by day, and any plants are weeds struggling against the tar sealed surface and the rubbish which accumulates around the perimeter.

Thank you to all who visited my journal yesterday on the occasion of my attainment of 365 consecutive blips. I have yet to personally thank everyone, and intend to do so before the end of the weekend. In the meantime, please accept this general acknowledgement as an indication of how much it means to me that people care enough to visit and to comment.

The support that I have experienced from you all over the year has been wonderful, and has meant that at no point did I wonder about continuing. Wonder about whether what I was photographing and then posting? Yes, at times. And then a blip that I did not rate highly would get the attention of one or more of my blipmates who would see more in it than I had. I have learned so much about the art of photography, without becoming "arty" which I don't think is my nature.

Thank you also to all who expressed their concern about my hand and wrist. Although I did not post it for sympathy (it was actually the only worthwhile picture I took all day!), I was really touched by the comments, which all went to keep me on the Spotlight page all day long. To reassure those who advised that I get it seen to (by a proper doctor, no less) I have done so, and I have an XRay request form for Monday if the present rate of improvement does not persist. My GP pushed and bent things and felt that there was nothing to suggest a fracture.
