Home - and away
E A and I sat up till nearly 4 this morning, talking, sharing, supporting - then more over breakfast. Why is life so ....
A day retracing footsteps. Spent a couple of hours with A, my old next door neighbour. Her son, shot in Afghan, is doing really well. She can't understand D, says he's not the D that used to live next door. Well that's for sure, now he's a completely different person.
I spent time in my old home town. I lived in this street for 24 years and #2 & 3 sons were born at the top of that road, in the Maternity Hospital, not the street! Miss it? not really, just the life it represents and what I, and my kids, no longer have because our family has been broken.
Some shopping, some bumping into people I haven't seen for 4 years. Lunch at the Acorn and then coffee with S and family. S looked after our kids while I worked. Hers are so grown up now. Time flies.
Now back with E A, dining in for a tenner and the X Factor, a first for me.
There's a lot to be said for a walk down memory lane, and guess what? it's warm and no snow.
