Jacob's Ladder
This is the view from the top - looking back to Arthur's Seat, through the buddleia to Canongate Church. Getting there nearly killed me., straight up the vertiginous steps of Jacob's Ladder. Fit? Fa says I'm nae fit? Well, I'm nae.
I woke very early (3.30) and tidied up my Outlook inbox - deleting c350 e-mails. Very satisfying. I'd actually fallen asleep with R4 left on and woke to hear a random and very interesting World Service programme about the early days of The Beatles, I think.
Today was a long networking lunch in Howies (hence the Ladder). When it was Clarinda's, many years ago, my 'hen do' was there in the times when that was a couple of hours or so out with friends for a meal and a drink - not a 4 day extravaganza.
Tonight was a discussion about letting and then #2 son came along to help me retrieve the Christmas decs from the very top of the box room and pack the boxes for KL. Mums - we are the salt of the earth. Here I am making up packing boxes and stuffing them full of socks and the contents of a Bergen. the love of a mother - incalculable.
