Birthday Girl

Here they are - Dad at 90 and Mum now 83., What a pair!

I had a fairly blustery drive from East to West. Picked up the parentals and crossed to the other side with Western Ferries (considering the weather, the crossing was marvellous).

We had lunch at Coylet on the banks of Loch Eck - Dad's happy memory loch when he spent many a weekend in a boat on the loch for hours on end, and as children all we ever ate was fish! Here he caught brown trout, but we often had rainbows too and were spoilt with many a salmon from The Lenny, The Tay and The Ayr.

He is staying in Dunoon tonight (!) as an invited guest at an angling dinner. Not so easy to leave such an old gent to fend for himself, but he was determined. I know he has a couple of people looking out for him too.

Mum and I will cross the river again tomorrow (please be calmer!) to collect him and he will be mad that we did that! I will put on my selective hearing!

I popped into that best in town wool shop today (Once a Sheep- fab name!!) and got some chunky yarn for house socks - and completed one tonight!!

Lovely to always have such a warm welcome there, lots of tips and advice and quality products - thank you!
