Close Call

Last night I dropped a lens for the first time. Stupid, really, since I had a padded bag right there. My 135mm lens took a two-foot fall from a ledge onto hard cement as I was switching to another lens in the dark. A sickening sound. At the time the hood was attached in reverse and I think that is what saved it. It works fine. The only reminders of the mishap are these two small chips in the metal housing.
