London for the day

Day trip to London for Tower of London Ceremony of the Keys. Organised by the Royal Engineers Association. We left 10 am arriving and arrived about 3pm and spent the afternoon on a short river cruise and walk near Tower.

All met up again a 7pm and went on a private guided tour of the Tower, we were then invited to the Towers Warder Guards Club for drinks and hot buffet.

Ceremony of the keys started at 10pm, with all the usual pomp of English tradition. Unfortunately photography was forbidden. After the ceremony it was back to the club for a farewell drink and back on the coach for 11.30pm.

Think the driver got lost getting out of London as we did a complete circuit of Hyde Park. 1 1/2 hours to get out of London. Finally crawled into bed at 4AM Sunday morning. Funny didn't get up until lunch time. can't think why?
