vermilion waxcap
The new camera can't do macros as well as the old one. Devastated. However, it can reproduce at 1:1, so that'll have to do...
This brave little scout existed alone on a mountain of sand in a sand quarry in Dorset (don't ask, long story). Somehow it survived children charging up and down around it, and even a dog who went berserk and managed to cover the one-day-old camera in sand. I think it might be a vermilion waxcap. At least, unlike with birdwatching, your subjects don't move and are not always in shadow, enabling you to take something identifible. Possibly.
