Lodge, Cloudcroft, New Mexico
We made it to our grandparents at around five; the fresh mountain air took me by surprise. It lifted me high up from the pine trodden forest floors up into the clean crisp Cloudcroft clouds. I will admit, the pine needle smart a bit. We settled in to our room at the cabin and passed some time by sitting outdoors, and playing pool. Oh, and listening to Grandpa already begin his ranting about whatever news story he had just heard on Fox news. sheesh, that gets tiring. Negativity galore, but really today wasn't so bad. We had a very nice dinner at the lodge in cloudcroft. It's beautiful; very historically kept, makes you feel as if you were actually dining at a cute New Mexican lodge in the 1900's. We caught a gorgeous sunset from the large stained glass windows of the dining room. My meal: Pistachio crusted Rainbow trout. mmmmm...... I decided to go with the fish because the vegetarian options were not so stupendous and fresh fish sounded like a good idea. It was in fact. Oh, and a toast to my grandparents 59th anniversary!
