School night outing

Possibly got this whole day off thing the wrong way around and maybe should have planned a big trip out with shopping, cinema and dinner with friends on the evening before we could all lie in a bit. But yesterday felt like the normal school day it was so that would have felt wrong. Whereas today felt like a Saturday or school holidays. Neither of which it is. Still, lots of fun was had by all and we are now feeling suitably festive for the start of December thanks to watching Arthur Christmas. A very enjoyable film and way better than the trailer led me to expect.

J has a new book and has spent most of the day like this, regardless of whether we were in shops, a restaurant or walking up stairs. Hastily grabbed this shot over my shoulder so as not to have to stop and cause a collision. It's been a while since I've been so gripped by a book and I love the feeling so much I am vicariously enjoying it through J.

All back home now and tucked up in bed but before I join them I must go and sort the advent calendar for the morning. I should also be making an elf costume but that will have to wait until tomorrow. I have a greater urge to bury my nose in a book.
