...on a deer

who was hanging with her girlfriends this afternoon...

i hadn't been to my usual haunt in awhile where the deer congregate - so i figured it was time for a visit... it was awful quiet as i sauntered around and i was beginning to think i wasn't going to see any... i rounded a bend and all of a sudden - there was a group of about 7... all huddled together - like they were enjoying a good gossip... of course they were munching on the grasses, enjoying the sun shine, too. as i came up - they merely glanced at me then went back to munching... i was so delighted - i started to chatter at them... lest they begin to leave - telling them how lovely they all looked... oh and warning them about the upcoming storm that's supposedly moving into the city tonight - bringing snow with it.

at that news... this one looked up and i swear nodded at me - as if to say it would be alright... they were prepared. and i believed her... i mean take a look at those ears... do they not look like ear muffs? all fluffy and furry - as though they've taken on a new layer just for the winter months? with that... i was reassured - had my pictures in hand - they were beginning to move off as well. there is nothing like a sweet interaction with animals - gentle creatures you just know have understood you... have a special connection with you. it made for...
