With dark days coming, I thought I'd better learn about B&W photography. Quickly. I haven't tried to take a B&W picture for over 40 years, and I only did it then because I couldn't afford colour film. So not surprisingly, nothing I tried today came off.

However I am getting to know my cameras. With the E-P2, the picture is either good or bad; if bad there isn't much to rescue. But with my X100 I can crop right down, recover highlights, lighten the shadows; and find something usable in a failed picture. Like this.
