Slateford Aquaduct

L and I walked along the Water of Leith, from Balerno to Leith. We've done it a few times before and always enjoy it. Its charm is that it takes you right through the centre of Edinburgh with hardly a sight of the traffic.

Today we stayed on the line of the old railway from Balerno, to join the Union Canal that we walked last month. The canal and the Water of Leith cross at this aqueduct.

We don't know Edinburgh well, so it's good to link the paths we've taken at different times. Once at Leith it was a couple of easy bus rides back to Balerno.
