Preshus

Having achieved my century, and managed a couple of hours blipping to enjoy my red balloon, I headed off to spend the weekend with my friends Jan & Tom in Paphos. We all worked together in HK, meeting for the first time 25 years ago in August.

This is Preshus (their spelling, not mine!), she is 10 years old and has not had a good year. It started with a problem with her back foot. The vet thought she had picked up a thorn and it had gone septic. He treated it, the paw was better for a few days then the trouble started again...and so it went on for a few weeks until, after a change of vet, she was diagnosed with a type of cancer in her back left leg...the solution was rather radical. It was amputed so Presh has learnt to get about on her 3 paws! Apart from that she is much better, her fur has regained that silkiness you associate with healthy cats...and she can still demolish a plates of prawns in no time!

Daizy is very good with T&Js cats...they have 2 others at present. And also likes to scoff their dinner, given half a chance!

We had a late lunch with an ex-pupil of ours and his partner who were in Paphos to attend a wedding. It was good to see Vernon after 20 years and to catch up on the news. Jan made a lovely lunch for us and of course the wine flowed freely... just as well I was staying over!
