Exploring leisure
After a dreadful night's sleep, I was allowed an extra hour in bed this morning - blissful. Then a mad rush to get everyone ready and out of the house in time to get Conor to football training. He was very reluctant to be left on his own... until he spotted a football and then tore across the pitch like all the other little boys to chase it.
Meanwhile, we were off to our rented house to meet the landlord, hand over the keys and have him check the place over. Happily he did this rather quickly, noted that the place was clean (phew) and pulled out a fat wad of notes to repay our deposit. The fuel oil tank that we hadn't filled was dealt with by us measuring its height and working out roughly how many litres we must have used - all dealt with rather quickly and easily. I may yet pop back and pull up those baby beetroots...
Picking Conor up we noted that he had been so engrossed in training, that he was still wearing his jumper and coat. Well, at least he enjoys it. Home then for lunch and a post-lunch explore of the countryside around our house. Some of the land immediately surrounding us and our neighbours is communally owned by us all, and more is owned by the man we bought our house from. In this second part we had been told there was an old swimming pool - which we found today after much fighting through brambles and thorny trees. I think it needs a little work.... I will blip it on a slow blip day with better light than today. Next, exploring north through a forest, with Mr B clearing a path through the brambles with a stick. We found this tunnel under the road and that's about it, but at least we know our surroundings a bit better now.
Later we will be heading off to Castres for some shopping, then on to our friends for a night out.
