Ramblings and Mutterings

Adverse

In a week where we had public sector strikes, I came about this sign on my afternoon stroll. This was a factory in my valley which employed a couple of hundred people, many from the village in which it is based. It shut earlier this year as production was moved to another plant in Europe.

What made us Great Britain? What do we actually make these days? Where has all the skill base gone?

Dark clouds remain over our economy and listening to the news each night it can make you feel depressed over the future. However, there are opportunities out there for those who are brave enough and have the vision, sadly though we've become very risk adverse and we're in danger of stifling creativity and innovation.

I don't pretend to have the answers but at times like these we need leaders who are strong and have a clear vision. Know of anyone?
