good catch...
...with a bold squirrel - hunger over taking hesitation
another cold, gray day... and not feeling a whole lot better myself - the backyard beckoned as the only place to venture...
armed with a few slices of bread and hopes of conversing with the neighborhood squirrels... i bundeled up and headed out. no sooner did i pull out the bread - begin to call for my furry friends - and start to toss pieces on the ground... i could hear the tiny patter of feet on the rooftop of the garage. looking up i saw 2 little ones - 1 hung back while the other braved forth to join me... flittering back and forth in the leaves. with bread in one hand - camera in the other... we played a game of catch... he was very quick on his feet and not quite as docile as the squirrels in the park - i don't think he was too enchanted with my chatter either - although he did come when i called, which thrilled me... and i managed to get a few decent shots in spite of his darting.
once inside... it was fun to watch squirrel number 2 join the original - and see both of them have at it with the remaining bread - uninhibited by a human... they were able to plop down in the middle of a sunday feast for themselves - made me feel good contributing to their dinner time knowing they'll have food on this blustery day. thus making for...
a
happy day.....
