Ready

1. Snow on the ground which makes me smile. For a while, until I remember what happens to public transport the instant the weather does this. It's mere moments until I realise all service is unmanageable, trains cancelled, ticket offices shut, massive queues. Joy that might be felt at the sight of snowflakes is chipped, chipped away until all that's left is resignation and weary necessity. I get to wear my wellies though, which is good fun and (fingers crossed) slip-proof.

2. Lunch in Cafe Hula with Gilly to make big plans over Tortilla. Pretty tasty and plans hatched.

3. Just as I think this day is going to press down and crush me, my colleagues surprise me with some pink fizz and a green box full of lovely things for my birthday.

4. No yoga tonight and I miss it, I feel lonely without it and it's ever so Monday nighty round here.

5. I'll just see if I get the Turner prize then the contents of that green box are going in a hot bath. Maybe then I'll cheer up. Humf.
