Sweet leaf

All around the building where I work are sweet gum trees. They turn the most magnificent colors in fall, and even when the leaves have been on the ground for a couple weeks they still hold their color. Slowly these street trees are going away, as they like to buckle up sidewalks with their root systems. Earlier in the morning they had a nice frost on them, but the lighting wasn't right at the time. I like them with a little sun on them to show off just how red they can get.

Not the best of days today, the city I work for had layoffs. Always a difficult time, this one made more difficult than most. It's not a good time to be working in government right now I think. These next few months are going to be rough.
