Today's the day ........................ to go for a picnic

My mobile rang and it was Will.... "Do you fancy going for a picnic?" he said.

The fact that I was in work with not very much time for lunch and that the weather was decidedly wintry - made me hesitate for at least two seconds - before I said, "Oh go on then ....."

We just drove a mile out of Kendal so that we could look over the town westwards into the heart of the Lake District. We could see right from Arnside and Morecambe Bay, to the Old Man of Coniston - to this snow storm over the Langdales.

It was a bit wild and definitely wintry - but what a great place to have a picnic ................
