Green as anything
It was a glorious morning and though I hadn't slept very well again, I stole myself to make the best of the day off. I drove to the Port following my nose and found the track to the torre that looks out to sea near where they are building the new Jumeirah hotel. I passed the most wonderful building that seems unoccupied but begging to be lived in and then walked through the almost silent woods to the top. A few old men were truffling around, presumably mushrooming, and someone turned up with a chainsaw on my way down, but other than them, there was just me and hundreds of birds. The tower is very mysterious, with a heavily locked gate that you can't even peek through and what looks like could be a secret walled garden looking out over the sea. It's all very solid and impenetrable. Anyone know who's got the keys? As I was taking some shots, I was treated to a fly by from some military aircraft. Maybe they were keeping an eye on me.
The other shots are here
Back in town, I grabbed a quick coffee, did a few jobs and then collected the boys for lunch at home for once. It seemed like such a luxury and great fun.
After I walked them back, I got some more energy and decided to tackle the front door with red oil. It's so satisfying to see the colour of the wood come through again. I nearly had to stop work, but then I found another bottle hidden at the back of the cellar and the big step ladder, so now it's all done, and the stairs too, apart from a few cat paw prints.
I finally realised that I've got some marking to do. That's what's going on... must be avoiding it. I'm off to hopefully put some ticks down.
