Isn't it a bit early to take the XMAS lights down?

Chaos on Union Street in Aberdeen this afternoon as one of the new Christmas Light spans came crashing down to earth in the stormy weather. It's a miracle that no one was hurt. These are brand new lights that were only put up this year and have only been on for a couple of weeks. I really hope that as the strength of the wind increases as forecast this afternoon and evening no more of them get torn down. I'm a bit surprised that the street hasn't been closed.

Hope everyone in the path of the storm is OK ... personally, I view my evening cycle ride tonight as a challenge :)
