This album is the one most fans of The Decemberists dismissed, but I didn't like much of their other stuff and thoroughly enjoyed this one. It doesn't steer far from the classic trappings of alt-country, but the inclusion of Gillian Welch on some songs lifts it above the norm.

In non-music news Arlo has moved from being a Tadpole to a Frog at swimming, he loves it in the pool.
