Back I go to listed buildings Wednesdays! This one is The Homestead which was built in 1906 and designed by one of my favourite Edwardian architects, Charles Voysey.
It is quite a large house, constructed of rough-rendered brick, with a green slate roof and stone window surrounds and mullions.
Before Voysey received his first architectural commissions, he designed many wallpaper and fabric patterns, which gained much admiration, making his name as familiar as William Morris and others of the Arts & Crafts movement. Later, his association with wallpaper led him to design the Sanderson wallpaper factory in Chiswick.
He also famously designed the Kent house of the author H.G.Wells.
