Federico's Functional Retro Cool
A pleasant weekend spent w/Sandra, Gaby & Ivonne in and around the town of Ixtapan, which is about 1.5 hours (in sensible traffic - rare enough) from Mexico City.
Bumped into this guy, who was the photographer at a wedding in a lovely, little, picturesque town (name escapes me) we were strolling through for the afternoon.
As soon as I saw him, I had to go up and ask if he would be happy to pose for me, which he was. The cameras were being used, because they still worked and liked the feel of them. Lots of love, sticky tape & rubber bands keeping them together.
He has 2 of the collapsible Polaroids, because he knows that he won't be able to replace them, if the go wrong. At least, w/2 he can cannibalise them to keep them going.
On another note, I experienced my 1st earthquake over the weekend. Dullard that I am, when it 1st started I thought something had gone wrong w/the plumbing (we were staying in a newly built house), until Sandra very quickly told me to grab a dog and get the f**k out of the house.
But we only experienced a much milder rumbling than that felt in Mexico City. I was amazed to find out later that the force of the quake was on a par w/that which happened in Fukishima, Japan.
But it caused much, much less damage and only 2 people were killed at the Epicentre in Guerrero. In fact, the sismo wasn't even enough to interrupt Eric Estrada (Poncherella from C.H.I.P.S.) winning the Mexican version of Strictly Come Dancing!!
