Ticking Away the Moments

Queuing for the sales?

We're in Lincoln this weekend, seeing all my extended family and exchanging Christmas presents. We normally try and get all the visits done in a day but it is hard to fit everyone in with a 5 hour round trip - so we're taking it easy this time & staying over for a couple of nights.

We had time for a walk round the main shopping area - so odd to go back to a place you used to know well many years later! I haven't been into Lincoln shopping for ages but used to work in the city centre so I know it really well. Some things have changed of course but as it is such an old city, bits of it are just the same. It has got some fantastic old buildings.

This is down by the river, I loved the row of pigeons all puffed up against the cold, with lots of swans in the background. Further up, the Brayford Pool area had ice in the middle but it had thawed out by the time we went back for our car to set out visiting again.

Out for a meal tonight to celebrate my Dad's birthday with him & my Mum, my Aunty Jean (my favourite aunt, everyone loves her) who is staying with them for Christmas plus one of my 2 brothers & my niece & nephew. I love coming over to see my family, just don't see enough of them.
