The Debate

Today I went with friends on a wee tour of the Scottish Parliament. I haven't been out much since I moved through to Edinburgh - wanted the first outing to be relatively tame...

Moving on. I really like the tour of the Parliament buildings and I do feel that it is much easier to appreciate the design of the building once someone has explained it to me - considering that I, along with the majority of people, do not know much about building design. I'm more of a "yes, that's nice", "no, that's horrible" person. Regardless of this, I thoroughly recommend the (FREE) tour of the parliament - it's free- as it is inexpensive - IT IS FREE (no one has an excuse to not go). I won't ruin the surprise for those who haven't been, but there is a great deal of symbolism throughout the building. It's rather nice.

This image is a shot of the seats in the debate chamber (where the SMPs behave like children, shouting and throwing toys out of the pram in a bid for our attention). After the tour, the conversation of independence came up. While I agree, it would be a lovely change to not have sensationalised information and statistics given to us about how catastrophic it may or may not be - I am behind it 100%. I am so tired - particularly in light of the Europhobic atmosphere Cameron has rallied - of having people who know nothing about the life and people of Scotland calling the shots and destroying ties with other countries. Maybe that is unfair, maybe they do know about life and people here, but I see no sign of that.
